This first volume of Milton H. Erickson’s seminars, workshops and lectures has its beginnings in the efforts of many scholars and professionals in psychiatry, dentistry, psychology, and education to collect and preserve his teachings in the area of hypnosis, human development, and hypnotherapy. Since Erickson lectured and taught professionals in seminars and workshops for almost 50 years in all parts of the globe and under all sorts of circumstances, the process of editing his spoken words into written forms has been a formidable task. This volume brings the new healing with therapeutic hypnosis into a central position within the series of the Collected Works of Milton H. Erickson, MD.

To extend the foundations of Erickson’s thinking into the next century we introduce new concepts that explore the deep epigenetic foundations for mind-body healing with Erickson’s therapeutic hypnosis and psychotherapy. We present new ideas about how the human genome – the blueprint for life – may become relevant for profoundly new research paradigms for exploring Milton H. Erickson’s therapeutic hypnosis today and in the future.
